How to brush your teeth properly?

Regular teeth brushing is the most important thing in caring for and maintaining good oral health in both children and adults.

The first step in proper hygiene is definitely choosing the right brush. It is very important that we choose the right size brush that is suitable for the size of your mouth. Brushes with a smaller head are certainly better, with which we can properly and painlessly clean hard-to-reach areas of the mouth (eg wisdom teeth, which are often improperly positioned). It is also important that the brush is soft with delicate fibers. Too hard and rough brushes can damage the gums (retraction of the gums) and cause the gums to bleed. It is recommended to change the brush every three months or after major colds, flu or sore throat.

Toothpaste is only an aid in brushing teeth. If someone has a special problem in terms of hypersensitive teeth, bleeding and inflammation of the gums (gingivitis/paradontitis), then a specialized paste can definitely help. Teeth prone to caries should be washed with pastes that have an increased fluoride content, which reduces the chance of its development and strengthens tooth enamel.

Correct tooth brushing technique

Hold the brush like a pencil without strong pressure
Hold it so that the fibers of the brush are at an angle of 45 degrees to the axis of the teeth
Perform circular movements so that the head of the brush is half on the gums and half on the teeth
Massage the gums ( don't give up if the meat is bleeding - the inflammation will subside over time - the bacteria should be removed)
Thoroughly brush all surfaces of the teeth (especially pay attention to brushing the inside)
Avoid horizontal and vigorous brushing because you will harm your teeth with fast and aggressive brushing gums (gum receding), and over time there may be unwanted changes in the enamel (teeth become sensitive to hot / cold)
The average brushing time should be two to three minutes in order to remove all plaque from the teeth and the ingredients toothpastes work properly on tooth enamel and gums
Stand in front of a mirror for better technique control

If we want complete and proper oral hygiene, we can also use rinse water as an additional chemical control of plaque.

Be careful when brushing your teeth after consuming acidic or carbonated drinks such as coca cola or lemonade, as this can lead to enamel damage. The same rule applies to pregnant women who vomit...it is important to wait 20 minutes and then brush your teeth.

We suggest preventive examinations and cleaning of calculus at your dentist at least twice a year.

Brushing your teeth should be done after every meal, but it is enough to brush them in the morning and in the evening before going to bed. The longer food stays on the teeth, the more in danger enamel is. Along with the toothbrush and paste, it is also necessary to clean the space between the teeth. Dental floss is best used after brushing (at least before going to bed) to clean those areas of the teeth that are inaccessible to the brush.
