TEETH WHITENING AT HOME
There are numerous pastes on the market that promise whiter teeth, but in most cases they only create an optical effect. Unfortunately, they can be abrasive and aggressive to enamel.
Proper whitening at home is carried out using plastic splints into which whitening gel is placed. There are also whitening strips. However, everything that is available to the patient at home is significantly different from whitening in the office. The results are weaker, the concentrations of active ingredients are lower and the effect is achieved more slowly.
TEETH WHITENING IN THE DENTIST OFFICE
Teeth whitening in the office can be done using different systems, and the one I prefer is whitening using a BEYOND 2 lamp. After protecting the soft tissues with a liquid barrier, the dentist applies an activated gel based on hydrogen peroxide in a high concentration. The application is followed by enhancing the effect of the gel with a BEYOND 2 lamp in several rounds of 30 seconds.
At the end of the procedure, the gel is removed from the surface of the tooth, the patient rinses his mouth with water and the difference in color is already visible. It will increase over time and after the patient leaves the office.
